A semi-structured, self, administered questionnaire was used. Information about the Knowledge of Medical Laboratory Practitioners about the Safety and Healthy Practices was sought, followed by the adherence and then related to their socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents. Information was assessed based on the response of the respondents. The study participants were Two hundred and thirty-one (231), mean age was 36.63 years (SD ± 9.407), mean number of years of experience was 11.57 years (SD ± 8.101). The percentage of male respondents was 37.7% while that of female was 62.3%. In response to their good knowledge towards about Safety and Healthy Practices, 93.1% of them has a good knowledge while 6.9% has a bad knowledge. The adherence was 80.5%. The socio-demographic characteristics also shows 75% significance. The attitude to safety is unsatisfactorily as 82.3% use cell-phone and other personal items in the Laboratory. This study shows a little deviation between the knowledge and the adherence to the Safety and Healthy practices among Medical Laboratory Practitioners. Emphasis should be made on training and re-training that will make them change the habit of using smartphone during laboratory procedures.
