Item Organisational Culture, Work Environment and Job Performance of Secretaries in Federal Tertiary Institutions, Niger State, Nigeria(Lead City University, 2022-12) Ndawancin Abdulkadir ABDULLAHIThe study investigated Organisational Culture, Work Environment and Job Performance of Secretaries in Federal Tertiary Institutions, Niger State, Nigeria. A Cross-sectional survey research design was adopted. The population consists of 165 secretaries of the selected Federal Tertiary Institutions, Niger State, Nigeria. A total enumeration approach was adopted. A validated questionnaire was used to collect data. The reliability co-efficient for the constructs ranged from 0.609 - 0.754. The data collected was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings revealed that Organisational culture has a strong positive and statistically significant influence on job performance; (Adj R2= 0.597; p= 0.000), the work environment has a strong positive and statistically significant influence on job performance (Adj R2= 0.270; p= 0.000), organisational culture and work environment has a strong positive and statistically significant influence on job performance of secretaries in Federal Tertiary Institutions in Niger State, Nigeria(Adj. R² = 0.577; p = 0.000). This study concluded that organisational culture and work environment significantly influences the job performance of secretaries in Federal Tertiary Institutions, Niger State, Nigeria. It was recommended that the management of Federal Tertiary Institutions, Niger State, Nigeria should focus on seminars that remind the secretaries of the importance of adhering to the culture of the institutions, ensure that all factors that aid timely response of secretaries while on duty and good environmental factors should be enhanced to encourage their secretaries to work effectively and efficiently.
