Item Supply Chain Management Practices and Organisational Performance In Flour Mill of Nigeria, Plc(Lead City University, 2022-12) Adebukola Omolara MEDAIYEDUThis study investigated the impact of supply chain management practices and organisational performance in Flour Mill of Nigeria, Plc. In order to achieve the research objectives, the study synthesised existing theoretical and empirical literature relating to SCM and organisational performance. A quantitative research design was selected for the study since it provided numerical and statistical analysis of the primary data collected. Semi-structured questionnaires were used for the collection of relevant primary data from employees and management since they allowed for the collection of a huge amount of primary data within the given time period. The study targeted 387 respondents from FMN, Plc in which 324 of them successfully fill the questionnaire which represented a response rate of 83.72%. The collected data were collated, coded and entered Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The statistical program was used to analyse the demographic characteristic of the respondents and to obtain the result by frequencies and percentages. Pearson correlation, linear regression and one-way ANOVA analysis were used to analyse the relationship between study variables. The study confirmed that SCM is very significant in enhancing the performance of organisations. The study has confirmed that SCM is very significant in enhancing the performance of organisations. Based on the findings, it was suggested that FMN, Plc should focus on increasing the awareness of ICT tools and benefits in managing supply chain activities and functions. It should also be noted that the use of technology in the manufacturing sector can facilitate information sharing and help in better integration. The study recommends that the organisation should strengthen their SCM by putting greater effort to the implementation of some key best practices and this should be done by keeping all practices updated. Descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The population of the study was staff of secondary schools in Abeokuta, Ogun state. The target respondent for the study consisted of class teachers within the schools. The total estimated figure for the population arrived at, based on survey of selected secondary schools was two hundred and fifty teachers. A structure questionnaire was administered. A pretest of the questionnaire was conducted in order to evaluate the relevance and proper understanding of the research questions. The questionnaire was checked by experts in the field of business administration. Furthermore, 10% of other respondents who correspond to our sample were accessed and interviewed to see if the questionnaire has to be modified. The pilot study was considered necessary in order to determine the willingness of the respondents, to have a foreknowledge of the reactions of the respondents and to ascertain the reliability of the questionnaire when used in the population of the study. Data collected was analyzed using the central tendency. Results were interpreted using descriptive statistics such as percentages, mean and standard deviation. The mean of the responses using a width of the class interval was interpreted as follows: 4.50-5.00 implied very good, 3.50-4.49 implied good, 2.50-3.49 implied acceptable/ok, 1.50-2.49 implied could be better/inconsistent and 0.50-1.49 implied not very good/often neglect this. A standard deviation of more than 1 indicates that the responses are widely distributed or no consensus and less than 1 indicates consensus on responses obtained. The study therefore concluded that there is a significant relationship between Self-awareness, self-control, self-motivation, empathy, social skills with the work-life balance of employees of secondary school in Abeokuta. It was recommended that the working environment should be such that will facilitate or promote bonds amongst employees, as this will create an environment where employees can share personal issues with each other and bring about a better emotional outlook for employees at work thereby also increasing work productivity. Moreover, they serve as a vital source of employment while helping to provide for the nutritional needs of low-income populations. The global performance of aquaculture showed that the industry experienced significant growth in demand for fish as a primary source of protein. However, the productivity of the aquaculture industry in Nigeria experienced a significant decline caused by profitability issues, weak new product development and weak competitive position, which is suggestive of challenges associated with response strategy and adaptive resilience factors. Likewise, the study argued in favour of the value relevance that possessing an entrepreneurial mindset can afford aquaculture firms to navigate the harsh business environment in Nigeria and identify business opportunities that can enhance their performance. Hence, on the strength of the ADKAR theory, dynamic capability theory and contingency theory, this study assessed the interaction of response strategy, adaptive resilience and organisational performance of aquaculture firms in Lagos State, Nigeria. A cross-sectional survey research design was adopted. The population was 4,012 employees of selected aquaculture firms in Lagos State. A sample size of 420 staff was determined through the Krejcie and Morgan formula for a finite population, and a stratified random sampling technique was used to select the employees at the three management levels within the selected aquaculture firms. A validated questionnaire was used to collect data. The Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficients for the constructs ranged from 0.80to 0.95. The response rate of 94.5% was achieved. Data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings revealed that response strategy and adaptive resilience had positive and significant effect on organisational performance (Adj. 0.000). The outcome of this study offered additional support for the ADKAR theory, dynamic capability theory and the contingency theory, which provided the theoretical underpinnings for this study. The study recommended that aquaculture firms in Lagos State should engage a strategic management consultant to undergo training on internal organisation competencies to enhance the deployment of response strategy and adaptive resilience factors and take advantage of developing and deploying an entrepreneurial mindset. This is because entrepreneurial mindset act as a significant moderator which enhance the interaction between response strategy, adaptive resilience and performance of aquaculture firms in Lagos State. However, family businesses in Nigeria are not living up to expectation given the several macro-environmental challenges they face. Considering the ripple effect of these environmental challenges on the sustainability of family business in Lagos State, this study examined the effect of firm's response strategy on family business continuity in Lagos State. The population was 8,395 owner-manager of family business in Lagos State and a sample size of 383 respondents computed using Cochran formula. The study adopted a purposive sampling technique. A validated questionnaires were used to collect data. The Cronbach’s alpha reliability coefficients for the constructs ranged from 0.72 to 0.91. The response rates of 89.7% was obtained. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings revealed that ESR had significant effect on FBC (β= 0.499, t=7.256, p=0.000). CEE had significant effect on profitability (Adj. R2= 0.276, F(1,395)=150.333, p= 0.000). Organisation unlearning had significant effect on competitiveness advantage(R2= 0.305, F(1,395) = 173.070, p= 0.000).Management innovation had significant effect on market share (Adj. Word count 300Item Human Capital Development Practices and Employee Engagement in Oluyole Local Government Area, Ibadan, Oyo State(Lead City University, 2023-12) Anthonia Odufa AJELETIThe objective of the study is to examine how training and development affects employee engagement, while the specific objectives include to explore the effect of Manpower Planning practices on employee engagement, examine how training and development affects employee Loyalty, Investigate how Organizational learning affects employee’s Intention to stay in Oluyole Local Government. Descriptive survey research design was used to get detailed and factual information that describes an existing phenomenon. Data were collected based on the stated research objectives. A sample size of 100 respondents was chosen from a survey of personnel at the Oluyole Local Government administration in Ibadan for the study. The sample size was chosen through systematic random sampling, 91 respondents out of the targeted 100 respondents. An analysis of the available research revealed a positive relationship between workplace mentoring and worker productivity. The findings reveals that workplace mentoring boosts employee performance through improved self-esteem and deeper commitment it fosters between mentor and mentee to organizational goals supports this. The result of this study shows that the adjusted R Square value was 0.345 which indicates that 34.5% of variation in Organizational learning and employee engagement is explained by responsiveness attribute of Intention to stay, which also demonstrates that individuals who get mentorship are better prepared to negotiate company culture, resolve issues, and progress their careers. It also showed that, depending on how it was carried out, the link between succession planning and worker productivity might be either favorable or negative. The emphasis on the research's key conclusion demonstrates that when succession planning is approached from a career and talent management perspective, employee engagement and staff retention follow. It was finally recommended that in order to meet staff demands, Oluyole Local Government administration must enhance quality services via the development of health care, quality education, quality employment and skills. While past studies have already suggested promising effects of eustress on the health and well-being of employees, the subjective effect of eustress on employee engagement is relatively unexplored. Therefore, this study examined the effect of organizational eustress on employee engagement in selected Manufacturing firms in Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria. A descriptive research design was adopted, and the study hinged on two (2) theories which include the social exchange theory and Herzberg’s Theory of Stress Factors. To accomplish the objectives of the study, a total of 318 copies of the questionnaire were administered to the respondents with the use of a Five-point Likert scale questionnaire for data collection. Data collected were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The study adopted SPSS version 25 for the descriptive and inferential statistics. Simple linear regression analysis was used. Findings revealed that employee performance has a weak but significant relationship with the creativity of employees in selected manufacturing firms (R =0.436a). Also, employee satisfaction was found to have a weak and significant relationship with employee work commitment (R = 0.303). The findings also revealed that employee wellbeing has a weak and significant relationship with employee role competence (R = 0.417). Furthermore, findings revealed that organizational eustress has a moderately strong and significant relationship with employee engagement (R = 0.529). It therefore concluded that there is a statistically significant effect of organizational eustress on employee engagement in selected manufacturing firms in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. Therefore, it was recommended that the management of the manufacturing companies should intensify efforts towards the reinforcement of organizational eustress, which will assist superior employee engagement. However, there are increasing customers concern about the transparency and sustainability of cosmetic products, Thus, demands management commitment in deploying appropriate Customer Equity mechanisms (CE) and creating Brand Awareness (BA) to enhance customer perception and performance. Hence, the study assessed the effect of CE on performance of cosmetic products in Ibadan. Cross-sectional survey research design was adopted. The infinite population has a sample size of 460 women-cosmetics users computed using Cochran formula. The study adopted a purposive sampling technique. A validated questionnaires were used to collect data. The Cronbach’s alpha reliability coefficients for the constructs ranged from 0.72 to 0.91. The response rate of 95.2% was obtained. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings revealed that CE has significant effect on performance (R 2 = 0.595, β= 0.505, t= 7.215, p=0.000). CE has significant effect on customer satisfaction (Adj R 2 =0.415, p=0.000, Q2 =0.254). CE has significant effect on new product development (Adj R 2 =0.296, p=0.000, Q2 =0.254). CE has significant effect on customer engagement (Adj R 2 =0.263, p=0.000, Q2 =0.177). BA has significant mediating effect on the relationship between CE and performance of cosmetic firms in Ibadan Oyo State (β=0.206, t= 3.596, p= 0.000, Q2 = 0.221, 0.339). This study conclude that CE and BA are important for higher performance. The study recommends that cosmetics firms selling in Ibadan must position their brands in such a way that it amuses existing and potential customers perception towards their product to gain market share and be creative in their commitment to brand awareness campaign because of its ability to explain the effect customer equity has on performance. The organization exists to provide certain services. People are hired to assist the organization in meeting its goals. Poor and inconsistent staff training is one of the problems encountered in the organization, which can invariably lead to inefficiency and low productivity in the organizational setting. Descriptive survey was adopted for this study and the population consist of staff of Federal College of Agriculture Moor plantation, Ibadan, however the targeted population was 1423. A sample size of 312 was determined using Taro Yamane’s formula. Questionnaire was instrument used for data collection. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics of frequency counts, simple percentages, mean and standard deviation while inferential statistics of multiple regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. Results revealed that recognition had effect on employee morale in Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan. Job enrichment had effect on self-development. Training had effect on confidence in management of staff. Reward programmes had effect on staff strike. Recognition had significant effect on employee morale (F(1, 30) = 72.420; p<0.05). Job enrichment had significant influence on self-development (F(1, 30) = 42.811; p<0.05). Training had significant effect on confidence in management (F(1, 30) = 7.882; p<0.05). Reward programmes had significant influence on staff strike (F(1, 30) = 4.409; p<0.05). Based on this findings, motivation factors tend to increase employee performance, as long as the motivation strategy adopted meets the needs of the employees as organizations that always motivate their employees will enjoy greater productivity. The researcher recommends that management of Federal College of Agriculture Moor Plantation, Ibadan, should engage their staff in constant training, seminar, Symposium, colloquium as this would in turn enhance their productivity.
