Abstract
Effective Ergonomics in Teaching Hospital Design case study of Bowen University Teaching Hospital Ogbomoso, Oyo state Nigeria considering. This research aimed to explore an effective ergonomic design for a teaching hospital considering safety measures in teaching hospital design, examine how an effective usability can be promoted in a functional teaching hospital and investigate the importance of good accessibility in hospital design. Cross-sectional survey design is adopted for the research methodology, case study approach both local and international studies using observation guide. The scope of this research is limited to ergonomics of Accident and Emergency Unit, Diagnostic (Laboratory and Radiology Unit), Maternity Unit, Operating Theater with Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The analysis of ergonomics process: which include evaluation, identification, analysis develop solution and implementation leads to a conclusion of effective ergonomic is a teaching hospital must put into consideration the Accessibility : ambulance bay, drop-off ,parking, wide openings and ramp, Circulation: ergonomics, working area, private area and waiting area, Clinical Environment: Landscaping, shading devices and wind breaker and Aesthetics: visual and cultural ethos, both interior and exterior.
